Good morning everyone,
Today, we gather here to celebrate the 75th Republic Day of our great nation. It is indeed an honor to address you all on this auspicious occasion. Republic Day holds a special place in the hearts of every Indian as it marks the day when our Constitution came into effect, laying the foundation of a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic nation.
On this day, we pay homage to the founding fathers of our Constitution who worked tirelessly to ensure that every citizen of India enjoys freedom, equality, and justice. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of our Constitution, once said, “I feel that the constitution is workable, it is flexible and it is strong enough to hold the country together both in peacetime and in wartime. Indeed, if I may say so, if things go wrong under the new Constitution, the reason will not be that we had a bad Constitution. What we will have to say is that Man was vile.”
These words of Dr. Ambedkar remind us of the power and potential of our Constitution. It is not just a document, but a guiding light that ensures the well-being and progress of every citizen. The Constitution of India guarantees us fundamental rights, such as the right to freedom of speech and expression, the right to equality, and the right to education, among others.
As responsible citizens, it is our duty to uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution. We must strive to promote unity, diversity, and inclusivity in our society. We should work towards eradicating social evils like caste discrimination, gender inequality, and religious intolerance. It is only by embracing the principles of our Constitution that we can build a strong and prosperous nation.
Republic Day is not just a day of celebration, but also a day of reflection. It is an opportunity for us to assess our progress as a nation and identify areas where we need to improve. We must address issues like poverty, illiteracy, corruption, and environmental degradation. By doing so, we can ensure a better future for the coming generations.
On this Republic Day, let us also express our gratitude to the brave men and women of our armed forces who protect our borders and safeguard our freedom. Their selfless service and sacrifice inspire us all and remind us of the importance of unity and patriotism.
As we celebrate this Republic Day, let us remember that the power to bring about change lies within each one of us. We must actively participate in the democratic process, exercise our right to vote, and hold our elected representatives accountable. It is through our collective efforts that we can shape the destiny of our nation.
Let us pledge to uphold the values of our Constitution and work towards building an India that is truly inclusive, progressive, and just. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for all.
Thank you and Jai Hind!
