On June 9, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in alongside his cabinet, constituting a new government. This cabinet, known as the Union Council of India, comprises ministers responsible for making crucial governmental decisions. Prime Minister Modi selected members from his political coalition, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), along with introducing fresh individuals to the council. The latest cabinet consists of a total of 30 ministers.

The official session of the 17th Lok Sabha ended on 9 June 2024 and the session of the 18th Lok Sabha also began on the same day. This has paved the way for the formation of a new government at the Centre with Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.
