Jharkhand Nursing Course Duration

Eligibility Criteria
For ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) Course
- Age Requirements: Applicants must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31, 2024. The maximum age limit for admission is 35 years.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Candidates should have completed their 10+2 education in Arts (which includes subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) with English Core/English Elective, or Health Care Science Vocational Stream from a recognized board.
- Students should be medically fit and have qualified the 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
- Gender Requirement: Only female candidates are eligible to apply for the ANM course.
For GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) Course
- Age Requirements: Candidates must be between 17 and 35 years old as of December 31, 2024. There is no age restriction for ANM/LHV (Lady Health Visitor) candidates.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education, preferably in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English, with an aggregate of 40% marks.
- Alternatively, candidates with 10+2 qualifications in English with a minimum of 40% marks in any recognized board or from the State Open School recognized by the State Government or the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are also eligible. Science subjects are preferable.
- For vocational streams, candidates should have completed 10+2 with English and 40% marks in Vocational ANM courses from institutions recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
- Candidates must be registered as ANM with the State Nursing Registration Council and should be medically fit.
- Additional Requirement: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 Arts or Science examination of the Health Care Science Vocational stream conducted by NIOS with at least 40% marks.
