Birth of Jharkhand: A Glimpse

Jharkhand was officially established as the 28th state of India on November 15, 2000 with the enactment of the Bihar Reorganisation Bill. Carved out of the southern region of Bihar, the state has 18 districts. Jharkhand is bordered by Bihar to the north, Uttar Pradesh to the northwest, Chhattisgarh to the west, Odisha to the south and West Bengal to the east.

झारखंड आधिकारिक तौर पर 15 नवंबर, 2000 को बिहार पुनर्गठन विधेयक के अधिनियमन के साथ भारत के 28वें राज्य के रूप में स्थापित हुआ। बिहार के दक्षिणी क्षेत्र से अलग होकर बने इस राज्य में 18 जिले हैं। झारखंड की सीमा उत्तर में बिहार, उत्तर-पश्चिम में उत्तर प्रदेश, पश्चिम में छत्तीसगढ़, दक्षिण में ओडिशा और पूर्व में पश्चिम बंगाल से लगती है।

संथाल नृत्य	संथाल जनजातियों द्वारा विशेष त्योहारों और अवसरों पर किया जाता है। यह नृत्य संस्कृति, परंपरा और एकता की ताकत को दर्शाता है। झारखंड में रंगीन परिधान इसका मुख्य आकर्षण हैं।
पैका नृत्य	ओडिशा का प्रसिद्ध नृत्य रूप है, जिसे ओरिया सेना के पैकाओं द्वारा किया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य शारीरिक उत्तेजना और आंतरिक साहस को बढ़ाना है। यह मयूरभंज जिले की जनजातीय बेल्ट में प्रचलित है।
छऊ नृत्य	खुले स्थान या मैदान में, आमतौर पर रात के समय किया जाता है। नृत्य क्षेत्र को मशालों से घेरा जाता है, लेकिन कुछ उन्नत हिस्सों में इलेक्ट्रिक लैंप और लाइट्स ने मशालों की जगह ले ली है।
शारहुल नृत्य	गांव के देवता की पूजा के रूप में किया जाता है। पूरे क्षेत्र में नृत्य, गीत, ड्रिंक्स, स्नैक्स और विभिन्न खाद्य पदार्थ शामिल होते हैं।
झूमर नृत्य	शादियों, मेलों या अन्य महत्वपूर्ण समारोहों और उत्सवों के दौरान किया जाता है। यह नृत्य आमतौर पर एक घेरे में किया जाता है और नर्तक रंगीन परिधान पहनते हैं।
फागुआ नृत्य	प्रदर्शन के दौरान नर्तक एक-दूसरे पर रंगीन पानी और पाउडर फेंकते हैं। झारखंड के कुछ हिस्सों में महिलाएं भी इस नृत्य में शामिल होती हैं।
भेजा नृत्य	नर्तक एक श्रृंखला बनाते हैं और बारी-बारी से एक-दूसरे के हाथ पकड़ते हैं। मेलोडियस पारंपरिक गाने और संगीत इस नृत्य के प्रमुख साथी हैं।

Santhal Dance	This dance was performed by the Santhal tribes during all special festivals and occasions. This dance not only reveals the culture or traditions of the local tribes but also showcases the strength of unity. The main attraction of the Santhal dance in Jharkhand is the colorful costumes worn by the tribal people.
Paika Dance	Paika dance is a famous dance form of Odisha which is practiced by the paikas of Oriya army. The main target of this dance is to enhance the physical excitement and to develop the inner courage. The tradition of this dance is carried throughout the huge area of tribal belt of Mayurbhanj district.
Chhau Dance	The Chhau dance is performed in an open space or a ground field, generally at the night time. The dancing area is surrounded by the fire poles called the Mashaals, for the sake of lighting in the dark. But in some of the advanced parts of the state, electrical lamps and light have started replacing the fire poles.
Sharhul Dance	It is worshipping of the village deity, which protects and supports the tribes. There is dancing and singing in the whole region accompanied with drinks, snacks and a variety of foods.
Jhumar Dance	Jhumar is performed anytime, especially during the weddings, melas or some other important functions and celebrations. This dance is generally performed in a circle. The dancers wear very colorful costumes.
Phagua Dance	During the performance the dancers throw colored water and powder on each other. Women also join this Phagua dance in some of the parts of Jharkhand.
Bheja Dance	During performance, they form a chain by clumping hands of one another in alternate successions. Melodious traditional songs and music are the major accompaniments of this dance
